Dream Come True for Anyone Who Teaches Reading!!! This AMAZING, MUST HAVE, book is a dream come true for anyone who teaches reading. It is like no other book I've ever read or owned about literacy. Most books about teaching reading require plowing through lots of pages about the author's philosophy and practices before getting to the good stuff...the stuff you can use in the classroom tomorrow. This book is only the "good stuff!" ...from strugglers to gifted students...from pre emergent readers to Level Z readers..... You will find strategies you could walk in your classroom and use the day you receive your book. Every teacher, from classroom teachers to reading specialists to literacy coaches to tutors to home-school teachers, from pre serviice teachers to veteran teachers, will quickly and easily be able to find the strategies they need to teach the students in front of them. And the strategies will help readers at every level internalize skills necessary to read fiction and non fiction, to write and talk about reading, and to read and comprehend with deeper insight. The author, Jennifer Serravallo likens the book to a cookbook that the reader will hopefully outgrow someday, but I can't put it down. It will make you wish you wish it wasn't summer. The inviting, easy to find pages with lots of charts and practical tips will invite you to start tabbing pages, highlighting and organizing yourself for next year! In addition, it's the perfect gift for a teacher friend, or relative. I just ordered two copies for my soon to be teaching daughters. Only one regret... why couldn't this have been published when I started teaching....I would have been such a better teacher!Every teacher needs this book, if you only buy ... Every teacher needs this book, if you only buy one book for your reading classroom this is the book to buy. Use it for whole group, small group and focused interventions... Close those academic gaps. This books pinpoints what students need and how you can teach them.

Hellion (Relentless Book 7) Pdf

ISBN: B07J6Q67W1
Title: Hellion (Relentless Book 7) Pdf
Jordan Shaw is one of the Mohiri’s best young warriors. Fearless and bold, she’s passionate about completing every job and living life to the fullest, even if that means breaking all the rules.

When Jordan encounters a demon believed to have been killed off centuries ago, her discovery sends ripples up to the highest levels of the Mohiri. While they discuss how to face the biggest threat to humanity yet, she prepares herself for the mission of her life. She’s not afraid of danger or dying, and she’ll fight to the last breath to save her family.

There’s just one problem – the frustratingly fierce male warrior who calls to her demon. In her heart, Jordan knows he’s her perfect match, but she has things to do before she’s bound to a mate. Like saving the world.

This book is mature YA due to some mature content.

Sad to say it wasn’t that great I am going to give this book three stars because it is just more of the same. So-so. Honestly one of the things that I think this series has lost is pacing. Sarah and Nicholas’ story took 4 books to tell. It was witty, funny, surprising, and sweet. With all other books, the stories and characters are too rushed. There is nothing to savor. And honestly with each book, Ms Lynch has gotten more graphic with the sex. When did she become a smut writer? I had to warn my teenage daughter and several others that the smut levels are getting to be too much for teen/young adult. I hate to let this writer go because I was one of her first readers of Relentless, but I really don’t believe in her writing anymore. Not everyone wants smut and shock value. Some of us enjoy (an appropriate) and slow burn romance and in-depth character focus.AMAZING! Another amazing book by Karen Lynch. I love how this author thinks and writes. Her stories are so amazing and sucks you in, in seconds. Anytime I open any one of her books I come alive in her stories. Karen Lynch did not disappoint in her last book of the Relentless series, “Hellion”. “Hellion” is told by Jordan’s POV. Jordan character is full of character, spunk, sass, and totally badass. As a reader of this whole series I really felt like I had a good idea of who Jordan is but in her story you really get to know the true her. Her character has so much depth. Her earlier life story was so touching. It was very entertaining reading about Jordan and her possible other person in her life. (not wanting to spoil anything). I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend this book and the whole enter series.Classic Karen Lynch It pained me to give this book 4 stars. It's not that it's a bad book -- her books have just become very formulaic. If you've read the previous books, you'll know exactly what happens. That's usually fine, but this time, the book lacked pizzazz -- Jordan wasn't a particularly interesting or funny heroine, and she was somewhat dis-likable at times. Her pivot from not wanting a mate to wanting one was very sudden to me, and I found that she and her mate lacked some chemistry. If you've liked the previous books, you'll like this one. It may not be your favorite, but you'll enjoy it.

Nestled smugly together with a coterie of prints and a devious convention edition of the Wizard Xagyg' Tomb of Horrors lies what you have long sought.Art & ArcanaA tome worthy of song. Of tribute. Of legend.*** *** ***This is book is a trophy piece. Covered in illustration, wickedly dense with history, and beautifully produced. Despite owning their page limit the authors managed to cram decades worth of wonder, triumph, tears, and rebirth into a single book that somehow manages to capture it all (or close enough!) Every time I wondered if they'd cover something, there it was. What about a page on how Todd Lockwood's dragons from 3rd Edition are the BEST? Two-page spread. What about the Heavy Metal line of miniatures? How about a sequence of the covers of D&D's core books through the ages? Yup. But organized unlike me.If you love D&D buy this book. If you love D&D art buy this book. If you love D&D history buy this book. If you don't, then go try out D&D and then buy this book!Book is fabulous. Dissapointed in the extras in the Special Edition. The book is amazing. A complete history of all that is D&D, from it's beginning to today. They have some amazing pics in here. For the long-time D&D fan, this is THE book to own.I have been a HUGE D&D fan almost since the beginning. Growing up in WI, it was always a point of pride that TSR was an hour drive from my house, and GenCon was always "local" to me. When I first saw this book available for pre-order, I put in for my copy. Then the Special Edition was offered, and I changed my order. Now that I have it, I absolutely love the book, and the box is very cool. But the "extras"? Meh.The booklet for Tomb of Horror is really nice for anyone who has played through the original module (and remembers how rough it was). but the "10 poster size prints?" Are you kidding me. 4 8x10, 4 10x16, 1 14x18 and 1 16x24. I'd barely call the 16x24 a "poster", and the rest? Bah.Anyway, I am personally disappointed in the extras. I think the better buy is the book itself, for less than 50% of the price of the Special Edition.Great content - not the best packaging - great customer care The art, the stories, and the general content of the book have been great so far, and I really enjoyed the posters + Tomb of Horrors manual that were also attached. That being said, there were some issues with the packaging for it - one of my corners of the box was notable scuffed (due to poor package handling, I'm sure), but there are also areas around the spine/back of the box were the covering material is wrinkled, etc. and is thereby discolored, which really stood out to me against the plain black. In addition, inside the box, the straps holding in the folder with the promotional material are not only incredibly flimsy, but one of mine had already come apart by the first time I opened the box up. Great material, very disappointed in the packaging.Update:One of the authors, Michael Witwer, reached out to me in the comments below to attempt to rectify the situation. I'm now in the process of getting an exchange for an undamaged copy thanks to his help, and I felt that I had to give some major points back to this purchase. Not only is such customer service to be applauded, the kindness and swiftness of his actions have really touched me on a personal level. It was great to see such customer care in the tabletop RPG industry after the roll20 reddit debacle, and it showed me not only how much care these guys have for the product they've expertly crafted (it truly is wonderful, both myself and my non-DnD-inclined friends love it), but the care they have for the consumers.

Title: Killers of the Flower Moon Pdf The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI

“The best book of the year so far.”—Entertainment Weekly“Disturbing and riveting. . . . Grann has proved himself a master of spinning delicious, many-layered mysteries that also happen to be true. . . . It will sear your soul.”—Dave Eggers, New York Times Book Review“A marvel of detective-like research and narrative verve.”—Financial Times“A shocking whodunit. . . . What more could fans of true-crime thrillers ask?”—USA Today“A master of the detective form. . . . Killers is something rather deep and not easily forgotten.”—Wall St. Journal“David Grann's Killers of the Flower Moon is unsurprisingly extraordinary." —Time“A masterful work of literary journalism crafted with the urgency of a mystery. . . . Contained within Grann's mesmerizing storytelling lies something more than a brisk, satisfying read. Killers of the Flower Moon offers up the Osage killings as emblematic of America's relationship with its indigenous peoples and the 'culture of killing' that has forever marred that tie.” —The Boston Globe“[C]lose to impeccable. It's confident, fluid in its dynamics, light on its feet. . . . The crime story it tells is appalling, and stocked with authentic heroes and villains. It will make you cringe at man's inhumanity to man.”—The New York TimesNew York Times bestseller (April 2018) David Grann is a staff writer at The New Yorker and the best-selling author of The Lost City of Z, which was chosen as one of the best books of the year by The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other publications and has been translated into more than twenty-five languages. He is also the author of The Devil and Sherlock Holmes. His work has garnered several honors for outstanding journalism, including a George Polk Award.

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER   -  NATIONAL BOOK AWARD FINALIST

A New York Times Notable Book

Named a best book of the year by Amazon, Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, GQ, Time, Newsday, Entertainment Weekly, Time Magazine, NPR, Vogue, Smithsonian, Cosmopolitan, Seattle Times, Bloomberg, Lit Hub, and Slate

From the #1 New York Times best-selling author of The Lost City of Z, a twisting, haunting true-life murder mystery about one of the most monstrous crimes in American history

In the 1920s, the richest people per capita in the world were members of the Osage Nation in Oklahoma. After oil was discovered beneath their land, the Osage rode in chauffeured automobiles, built mansions, and sent their children to study in Europe.
Then, one by one, the Osage began to be killed off. The family of an Osage woman, Mollie Burkhart, became a prime target. One of her relatives was shot. Another was poisoned. And it was just the beginning, as more and more Osage were dying under mysterious circumstances, and many of those who dared to investigate the killings were themselves murdered.
As the death toll rose, the newly created FBI took up the case, and the young director, J. Edgar Hoover, turned to a former Texas Ranger named Tom White to try to unravel the mystery. White put together an undercover team, including a Native American agent who infiltrated the region, and together with the Osage began to expose one of the most chilling conspiracies in American history.

Excellent story telling of a horrible part of history I'll keep it simple.I'm horrified and ashamed of the atrocities people will commit to gain extra cash in their pockets. This story needed to be told, and it fascinating the amount of detail that went into describing the horrors of that period of time. Certainly a lot of jumping off points into further readings from history.Reads quickly, easily, and is highly thought provoking. Worth the time. I highly recommend it.One aspect that had it been included, would have really helped solidify some of the information is a time line with events and people. There are so many people involved, and so many connections and mysteries, that I was beginning to forget when something happened and who was involved, or how someone was related, or what their role was. Its not that I forgot, but I would love to refer back to that in conversations about the book. I suppose I could have taken notes, but that didn't occur until later. And so I just leave that as a suggestion. A couple of pages at end of book with a quick who's who.Masterful. A disturbing piece of history wonderfully told. This one I couldn't put down. What an incredible period in Oklahoma history that I never learned about until now. The author captures an era of lawlessness and greed in frontier life and shares a piece of history that almost remained untold. Thank goodness David Grann didn't let this one die. I really enjoyed this book and hope this story is included in future history classes. A cautionary tale demonstrating the level of greed and heartlessness that can sometimes take hold in people's hearts.Yikes. This is one of the most heartbreaking and terrifying books I have ever read. I hope that it becomes a staple of reading lists for American history classes. It is an incredibly well told story of a staggering real world evil in an America only two or three generations removed from our own. You should read it. It won't take long - it is, though it feels crass to say so, a genuine page-turner. And I at least will likely wrestle with it for a long while. Man o man.
